A credit card is the ultimate gadget for convenience. With this plastic card, you don’t have to bring much money. You can actually carry this one card in your purse and be able to pay virtually everything, from restaurants to boutiques, parking fees to laundry. Truly, the credit card is a godsend. Because of the potential of these plastic cards, a lot of con artists are targeting them. Below are some of the ways to avoid credit card scams.
Keep your credit card safe.
It is never good to brandish about your credit card as if it is some crown jewel that people should envy. Keep your credit card inside your wallet or purse all the time and never take them out unless you are asked to by the cashier. That way, you can be sure that it will remain there inside the bag. You see, with the size of credit cards, they can easily slip from your hands especially if you are trying shoes or looking at clothes racks.
Write down your expenses.
Upon going home, devote a part of your time to writing down the expenses for the day that you charged in your card. This way, it will not be confusing once the statement comes. You see, some banks will mistakenly charge your account with purchases that you did not make. So to make sure that everything is accounted for, write it down. You can also keep all the receipts in one place and just compare it to the statement that comes in.
Put it back.
It is also good to make it a habit to always out it back your wallet after every transaction to make sure that you do not leave it at the cashier. Although some will often find it hard to remember this, some use techniques that surprisingly work. You can do this by tying it up with another reminder. For instance, try to ask for the receipt of your purchase. That way, you will be able to remember to put your credit card in the bag or in the wallet when the receipt is given to you. This way, you can be sure that your credit card is safe inside your bag, thus avoiding credit card scams.
